Some new QSL cards came. I made the contact with R7MA and looked at his QRZ page, he has some impressive antennas and a cool card so I sent my QSL. I liked the stamps too, so I kept them. St Helena Island is here: There’s a couple hams on St Helena Island, this was my 2nd contact.
QSL from Vatican City and Marconi Cape Cod
Received QSL cards from KM1CC and HV0A. I had to hold off sending my to KM1CC because the Cape Code National Seashore was closed during the gov’ment shutdown.
New QSL cards
E44WE sent a magnet with his card from Bethlehem, which is great because I like magnets. Also got a card from a DXpedition to Barbados. I’m seriously considering a vacation there and bringing my radio.
12 Days of Christmas Special Event – Clean Sweep
I like these special events where you have to contact a bunch of stations. I got all of them again, 2 on CW. Someday I might like to run one of these, I’m going to look into it. https://www.qrz.com/db/k2ryd
One year as a ham
A year ago today my original callsign(KX4HL) appeared in the FCC database after 9 long days of waiting. It’s been quite a year, as of this morning I have 2411 QSOs. Here’s some of my QSO cards: I’ve moved from just a wire antenna to a hex beam on the roof, put up a 2m antenna, built a AMSAT antenna. I’ve done 11 Parks on the Air activations (and doing another today at K-1909 Oscar Sherrer State Park, look for me around 14.287). I participated in winter and summer field day with the St Pete Amateur Radio Club (SPARC), there’s a meeting tonight also. Been to 9 ham fests,…
Rwanda 9X0T QSL card
I received this QSL card today. Also put in an order for more of my own cards.
Ghana QSL card
Received a QSL response from Ghana today
Armed Services Cross band test 2018
I got my QSL card for the Armed Forces Day crossband test. AAZ Ft Huachuca is where they guy I bought my IC-7410 from works. This wasn’t a very difficult test, basically just use split mode. It was fun to get a contact with the Pentagon and NSS, and also decoding the message in CW.
13 Colonies event QSL
I received the QSL from the 13 Colonies event. “Clean Sweep” with the two extra stations. This was a fun one. This weekend I’m going on a road trip and bringing the radio. I plan on doing some POTA activations so I’ll have some new content soon.
New QSL cards
I received a QSL card from a contact with NASA. I also made a contact to Hawaii during the IARU HF contest. Unfortunately this guy doesn’t used LOTW and Hawaii is the last one I need for Worked All States. I’m going to look into getting it check in person but they way I read it, they don’t link in person cards to LOTW. This is a great card I got from Latvia. Love the pic with the radio and dog.
